Take this drug with or without food. However, taking it with food may reduce specific side effects, such as upset stomach and nausea.

  • low levels of potassium in your blood
  • long QT syndrome

  • clarithromycin
  • erythromycin
  • telithromycin

Do not use other vaccines while using this medicine because Azithromycin may cause live bacterial vaccines not to work.

Azithromycin passes into breast milk, so you must consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
